Sometimes I forget how smart doxies can be, and how much they love to play and use their brain. Yesterday we decided to activate our dogs by hiding things and telling them to go find the thing that we had hidden (We used a ball and bones). Well, I figured that they would go find the ball and then just start playing with the ball, but no no. Alma wanted us to go hide the ball and and she'd go look for it over and over again. We played this game for half an hour and she did not want to stop. I was surprised she understood what it was all about and instead of playing with her favorite ball (she loves it when we throw it), she wanted to play this way.. It was amazing to see that they could understand the connection between the word "ball" and the fact that I had hidden it and she should go look for it. And once she found it, she brought it to me, sat down and WAITED with patience when I went to hide it again. Even Elsa liked the game :)

Love my weenies!

Movie night(s)

We watched Magic Mike yesterday. Yes I know, I'm a horrible woman who loves naked men (especially Channing Tatum, grrrr). Anyway, a thought crossed my mind as the guys were stripping and dancing around in their thongs. Why would strippers wear thongs when granny pants would fit a lot more cash?! I mean yeah I study business and think of ways how to maximize profit, but I'm surprised they haven't thought of this...

Well anyway, so we rented a few films (Magic Mike, Ice Age 4 and a swedish movie called Cockpit). We usually rent movies at Hemmakväll like once a week, but now that we have Netflix it has been maybe once a month instead. And since we have been watching Mad Men on DVD, there has been quite little time for movies. You should all see Mad Men: beautiful women and stylish men working at an ad agency in the 60's. Just loooove it. And my favorite Christina Hendricks is in it too. She is probably the most beautiful woman on this planet, not kidding. Google her if you don't know who she is.

LARV

So yesterday was a busy day. We at FOREX Bank attended LARV, which is a job fair arranged by Teknologkåren at LTU. We talked to lots of students and many seemed interested. So I would say it was a success! A big thanks to Emanuel who helped us out :)

But perhaps the best part of the day was the banquet in the evening. Very, very good food á la Simon Laiti. I has interesting conversations with a few people from ABB and I also met some old classmates both during the day and at the banquet.

I met my old classmate Emelie :)

Friendship

Two of my friends, Karolina and Karin, graduated on saturday. I was so proud of them because I know how hard both of them have worked and I know they are gonna be excellent physiotherapists. However, it was also a sad day (and not only due to my exam in french): Both of them left Luleå for good. It is difficult to say goodbye to people you care about! Many of us come to Luleå just for our studies and then leave when after graduating. It makes it hard, because you know that some people you will not meet well.. maybe ever again. But some will be your friends for a lifetime. Karolina and her boyfriend Nisse will surely be our friends -  well, until they get completely sick of us.

Good luck girls!

French exam.. Oh noes.

I feel quite stressed about my exam on saturday. I guess it's normal, but I still hate it. Languages are hard when you are a grown-up! In a business exam it is completely different, because even if you get a difficult question, you can still think logically and "guess" if you are not a 100% sure. But can you do that in a language exam? Umm.. Well, if the teacher wants to know what chicken is in french, I don't think she'll accept "onion" as the right answer. If you don't know something, you really don't know. Thank god the word wine is same in french and swedish.. Now there is a word that is going to be helpful on my trip to Paris. That reminds me, I should probably book the trip. Time flies and before you know it, BOOM, it's april.

I'm not sure how I feel about the whole "time flies"-dealio. I mean sure, it's great to finally be done - 5 years of studying is enough. I think. Well, at least for now. But at the same time these past years have been incredible. I've learned so much and made loads of new friends. I have been involved in so many projects and most importantly - learned so much about myself. Yes I have been tired at times and felt like a zombie, but it has been worth it. Now we'll just have to see what comes after this..

Friday, friday!

I feel like this week has just run by so fast. Not completely happy about the amount of work I have done, but I'm not too worried. I have a French test saturday next week and I have tried to study for that and work on my thesis. I have also been working wed-thurs and been hanging out at the gym quite a bit. I gotta say, I like fridays. I usually work on saturdays so it's not like friday is the door to freedom, but I still really like fridays.

Today I went to STIL and did some cardio workout based on the program that my PT did for me. It was tough. Like seriously tough.. Thankfully Santa brought me a Polar FT40, so I took my new toy for a spin. I really liked working out with a heart rate monitor that registers everything and anything you could think of. I actually think this watch is smarter than I am.

651 calories. Not bad, not bad at all!

Vacato.. Vacia.. Vacoti.. Vacation?

My boss and I were discussing summer vacation. First of all, I can barely spell vacation and now I should actually plan to have "time off". AND someone is willing to pay for that. Of course you never know what is going to happen with work and so on..

Anyway, after talking to my boss I called Peter so we could start planning this strange thing called "vacation". I'm hoping we can take a trip some place -  maybe Barcelona or Rome. I would loooove to travel a bit more. When you are a student you have no money and no time. Now I might have a bit more time, since I have less school work to worry about after coming home from work, not to mention vacations. I guess this graduation thing is not all bad ;)

I sure do!

Yep. And actually, I'm not a bad cook.. I'm good at so many things ;)

Yesterday I started working on my thesis. I was going through some articles on the topic I have chosen - Employer branding. As I probably have mentioned, it is a new area of study so there are only a few articles on the actual topic. Well, as I was reading the articles a range of emotions went through me: from desperation to hope. Aaaand back to desperation. Today I woke up and felt confident I would get lots done. It's 10.27 and I am blogging and watching Crossing Jordan on Netflix (DAMN YOU NETFLIX). But hey, the day is young, right?

2013

Yesterday I visited my old school, Oulu International School. They arranged an Alumni day and I got to meet some old teachers and look around how the place had changed. It felt a little bit scary to think that I graduated almost 6 years ago and now I am about to finish my studies for good. Or, at least for now. Like I said - scary. But no worries, I have a good feeling about 2013. I'm sure it will bring lots of changes and plenty of chances our way.

Tomorrow I go back to work and plan on getting everything back on track. Studies, work, work-out, thesis.. You name it. But like I said, that I plan on doing tomorrow. Today I'm watching Mad Men. Such a great program, but thankfully "business" is not just for men these days. I mean seriously, they missed out on lots of great ideas in the past.
